Spin trapping of hydroxyl radicals on Cu/HY zeolites suspended in aqueous solution.

Anette Häusser1, Martin Trautmann, Emil Roduner.

Abstract

Hydroxyl radical intermediates are trapped in calcined Cu/HY zeolites in the presence of oxygen and water. This suggests that hydrogen peroxide is formed in situ from oxygen. Brønsted acids enhance the formation of the radicals. This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011
