[Lipoprotein(a): an indicator of risk in thromboembolic disease?].

Abstract

Lp (a) has been determined in 203 patients with thrombosis and/or embolism and in 115 healthy volunteers. The frequency distribution of Lp (a) concentrations in the thrombosis group coincided with that in a healthy reference population. We hence conclude that there is no clinically relevant association between Lp (a) plasma concentrations and the risk of thrombosis.
