Abstract

Ring closing metathesis of allyloxy styrenes and a subsequent Ru-catalyzed allylic oxidation can be combined to a tandem sequence that makes coumarins accessible using less active but more conveniently available first generation catalysts. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011
