Abstract
The plasma atrial natriuretic factor was quantified by radioimmunological assay in 26 normal voluntary patients. The mean concentration was 47.9 +/- 3.3 pg/ml. This was increased by stress (i.e. inserting a catheter) or central hypervolemia and decreased in hypovolemia. Modifications can occur depending on age and on sodium intake. A relatively simple test to observe what the modifications of secretion age, can be performed with an anti-orthostatic bed rest over five hours.Entities:
