Associations between race time as dependent variable and the athletes’ characteristics using multiple linear regression (n = 42); all characteristics showing a significant bivariate association with race time according to Tables 1-3 have been included in the model as covariates. ß = regression coefficient; SE = standard error of the regression coefficient; Coefficient of determination (R2) of the model was 78%.
