Abstract
The colonization of humans with commensals is critical for our well-being. This tightly regulated symbiotic relationship depends on the flora and an intact mucosal immune system. A disturbance of either compound can cause intestinal inflammation. This review summarizes extrinsic and intrinsic factors contributing to intestinal dysbiosis and inflammatory bowel disease.Entities:
