Abstract
Four patients had visual loss after nasal surgery. There was one instance each of branch retinal artery occlusion, central retinal artery occlusion, anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, and posterior ischemic optic neuropathy. The postulated mechanism is vasospasm. The submucosal injection, under pressure, of an anesthetic with epinephrine is deemed to be causative.Entities:
