Abstract
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a complex disease with important environmental risk factors and a heritability of approximately 70%. Genome wide association studies have revolutionised the study of complex disorders and offer the potential for innovative insight into disease pathogenesis and development of individualised therapeutic options. This paper reviews the progress of genome wide association studies in AAA, highlighting novel disease pathways and potential translational applications of genomic discoveries.Entities:
