Ultrasound of the knee.

Łukasz Paczesny1, Jacek Kruczyński.

Abstract

Ultrasound is one of the standard imaging modalities of the knee. In the recent decades many new ultrasound techniques have been introduced, including power Doppler, dynamic examination, and ultrasound-guided techniques. Some of them have clear advantages over magnetic resonance imaging-today's knee imaging gold standard-whereas others have failed to meet expectations. This pictorial article reviews and demonstrates the use of sonography in different knee joint pathologies underlining recent findings and their practical approach. 2011 Elsevier Inc.
