Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this article is to describe CT and MRI features of normal anatomy, variants, and pathologic conditions of different ileostomies.
CONCLUSION: Multiplanar imaging techniques are useful to identify the complications related to stoma construction and preexisting disease. Understanding the indications for ileostomy construction, surgical techniques, and postoperative anatomy is important for differentiating normal and abnormal imaging features.
