Abstract
Most biliary emergencies can be classified as either infectious or obstructive. Infectious complications include acute cholecystitis and cholangitis. Many of these can be treated either surgically or endoscopically, but in some instances, less-invasive percutaneous techniques can be utilized to successfully treat these conditions. Obstructive complications, especially in the setting of liver transplant, can be serious if not treated quickly. Percutaneous drainage is sometimes the only acceptable treatment alternative for these patients.Entities:
