Abstract
In this issue of Neuron, Zhang et al. show that Synaptotagmin 4 (Syt4) is specifically induced in adult hypothalamic oxytocin neurons by high-fat diet. Evidence is provided to support a critical role for Syt4 in negative regulation of oxytocin release, which in turn is responsible for diet-induced obesity, raising the possibility of using Syt4 as a new antiobesity target.Entities:
