A Naqvi1, O Ogidan.

Abstract

As part of a larger epidemiological survey, children in the first year class of two secondary schools in Benin-City, Nigeria were examined and found to have a very high prevalence (19.06%) of traumatic injury to anterior teeth. The male to female ratio was 1.6:1. The most frequent injury was loss of enamel only followed by loss of enamel and dentine; and the injury was more common in the maxilla than in the mandible.
