Pill-induced liver disease.

P Devenyi.

Abstract

On the ever increasing list of complications and risks associated with oral contraceptive use, those involving the hepatobiliary system are less well known. Four of these entities are reviewed: benign cholestasis, gallstones, hepatic vein occlusion and liver tumors. Some comments are made about the general risk-benefit ratio of pill use.
