Abstract
The family physician's role in health promotion must be looked at in a broader perspective than the traditional clinical setting, and better articulated to public health organizations. Medical faculties should consider including sociology, medical anthropology, and communication skills in both the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. Family physicians of the future will be called upon for more community-wide basis interventions and a more systematic approach to health promotion in patient care.Entities:
