Abstract

Since ferrets were first used in 1933 during the initial isolation of influenza A viruses, animal models have been critical for influenza research. The following review discusses the contribution of mice, ferrets, and non-human primates to the study of influenza virus host range and pathogenicity. Published by Elsevier SAS.
