Abstract
Discs of urinary catheters with different coatings were exposed to a flow of artificial urine containing cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Within 10 h an adherent biofilm consisting of the bacteria and their exopolysaccharide products had developed on those discs coated with latex, teflon, and silicon. In contrast, on the silver alloy-coated catheter discs no biofilm of Pseudomonas aeruginosa had developed.Entities:
