Warm-Up Techniques and their Place in Patient Education.

R Stalker.

Abstract

Warm-up has been poorly studied scientifically, but there is a growing body of evidence to suggest that if properly executed, it benefits the exerciser both psychologically and physically. The family practitioner should be familiar with the principles and phases of warm-up in order to instruct athletic patients properly, with the purpose of preventing musculoskeletal injury.
