Use of Antimicrobials during Pregnancy.

Abstract

The use of any drug during pregnancy is complicated by concerns of adverse effects, not only on the pregnant woman, but also on the fetus. This paper provides an overview of the use of antimicrobials in pregnancy, based on current knowledge of fetal development and on available documented experience. The author also discusses the use of specific antimicrobial agents during pregnancy.
