Abstract
Chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD) often has a devastating impact on a patient's social and physical well-being. Pulmonary rehabilitation can help patients with COLD to optimize their quality of life. It can be used successfully by means of the resources available in a small community hospital. This article summarizes one approach to rehabilitation for COLD patients and deals with the results and the benefits to the patients and their families.
