Adverse Drug Reactions: Review of the Canadian literature.

J Lexchin.

Abstract

A combined manual and computer search of the literature on the Canadian experience with adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to prescribed drugs yielded a total of 23 articles. The risk of developing an ADR, factors influencing that risk, the incidence of ADRs, ADRs as a cause of hospitalization, case fatality ratios, whether ADRs increase hospitalization time, and the drugs that are most commonly implicated in ADRs were analyzed.
