Abstract
Fibromyalgia is a widely accepted clinical syndrome that is encountered frequently in general practice. It occurs in all age groups and is characterized by widespread rheumatism with specific tender areas, which are semi-quantifiable and are remarkable, not only for their constant presence, but also for their constant absence in areas that are typically not involved. Treatment consists of reassurance, aerobic exercise, and avoidance of prolonged medical leave. Tricyclic medications in doses subtherapeutic for depression can help, but anti-inflammatory drugs alone have been disappointing.Entities:
