Abstract
For the most part, doctors working in Quebec's local community service centres (or CLSCs) receive a fixed amount for their services. This type of remuneration is often associated with employee status. In the case of the CLSC doctors, however, their status is determined by the nature of their relationship with the centre's administration. It is evident from the conditions under which they practise that the CLSC doctors are not employees. Their autonomy is determined by the mission, orientation, and operation of the centre in a way that is similar to that of doctors paid on a fee-for-services basis in the province's hospital centres.Year: 1990 PMID: 21233900 PMCID: PMC2280080
