Abstract
Parasite-host coevolution can have many different endpoints, not simply the commensalism of 'conventional wisdom'. Empirical studies and mathematical models are elucidating the conditions under which parasite-host systems can coevolve to intermediate and high levels of parasite virulence - and when they can coevolve to commensalism and mutualism.Year: 1990 PMID: 21232384 DOI: 10.1016/0169-5347(90)90179-H
