Substance Use, Abuse, and Dependence Among Adolescents: Strategies for prevention and treatment.

S Lena, R Hajela, C Panarella.

Abstract

Adolescent substance use, abuse, and dependence is a family-oriented problem. Increasingly, primary care and family physicians are realizing that prevention, early detection, tracking those at high risk, treating addicted individuals and their family, and follow up are all important. Every health care provider has a role in the control of this disease.
