Thrombolysis for Acute Myocardial Infarction: Early treatment can reduce mortality and morbidity.

Abstract

Thrombolysis has an important role in the management of acute myocardial infarction. Early treatment can markedly reduce mortality and morbidity. This new standard of care requires knowledge of accepted indications and contraindications for thrombolysis as well as familiarity with available agents and regimens.
