Abstract
A kidney transplant is the treatment of choice for suitable patients with end-stage renal disease. The living related kidney donor represents an important source of kidneys because graft survival is much better and there is a critical shortage of organ donors. This article reviews the risks to the donor and the means by which these individuals are assessed in order to minimize the risk.Entities:
