Extracapsular dissection--minimal resection for benign parotid tumours.

Extracapsular dissection was adopted by the salivary clinic at Guy's Hospital as the treatment of choice for benign parotid lumps in 1999. We present here our experience gained in its use as the main method of treatment of benign parotid tumours in an unselected, consecutive series of 156 patients treated over a 10-year period.
