Abstract
The leaves of Mezoneuron benthamianum yielded methyl gallate and gallic acid as the constituents responsible for its antibacterial activity. (-)-Shikimic acid-3-O-gallate, 1-O-methyl-D-chiro-inositol, (-)-epicatechin, (-)-epicatechin-3-gallate and kaempferol-3- (6?-galloyl) glucoside were also isolated. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of these compounds against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms and a fungus are presented.Entities:
