Abstract
Extracranial metastasis of malignant glioma is an extremely rare event. We report on a 67-year-old patient with a primary gliosarcoma that was treated by open resection. The concomitant radio-chemotherapy which followed induced an unusually severe and early leucocytopenia. Ten months after diagnosis, the patient presented with multiple metastases in the lung and the skeletal system. The clinical, radiological and neuropathological findings are described. In addition, we discuss the possible role of a compromised immune system in the development of extracranial glioma metastasis.Entities:
