Endovascular repair of symptomatic sciatic artery aneurysm.

Fabricio Mascarenhas de Oliveira1, Guilherme de Souza Mourão.

Abstract

Persistent sciatic artery (PSA) is a rare embrionary anomaly in which the internal iliac artery and the embryonic axial artery continue to provide the major blood supply to the lower limb after birth. Aneurysm formation occurs in as many as 46% of cases. We describe a percutaneous treatment of a complete PSA aneurysm in a high operative risk patient.
