Abstract
Acanthosis nigricans is a dermatologic condition commonly seen in diabetics and obese individuals. Histologically, it is characterized by the proliferation of epidermal keratinocytes and fibroblasts. Clinically, the lesions appear as dark-brown thickened plaques. The neck and the axillas are the most commonly affected sites. Treatment involves management of the underlying disorder. Topical tretinoin and calcipotriol have also been used with some limited success. Other treatment options include laser and surgical excision.Entities:
