[2010 European guidelines for antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation and new risk score for the assessment of the risk of bleeding].

2010 European guidelines for the treatment of atrial fibrillation have introduced modified criteria for the instauration of oral anticoagulation. Guidelines also include a new score for the assessment of the risk of bleeding. We report the new risk scores CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED introduced for the assessment of thrombotic and bleeding risks, respectively.
