Abstract
The immune system is regulated by a variety of mechanisms that prevent overwhelming immune responses and a break in tolerance. There have been indications for some time that populations of B cells are also a part of this network and able to exert regulatory functions. Here we summarize current knowledge on this previously unrecognized B cell function and their potential role in protection against autoimmunity.Entities:
