Abstract
We consider Gaussian beam diffraction by hard circular and rectangular-slit apertures. Both numerical results and accurate elementary analytic approximations are derived for the fraction of transmitted power (or energy) contained within the main central lobe of the far-field (or focal-plane) irradiation distribution as a function of the truncation ratio.Year: 1995 PMID: 21060539 DOI: 10.1364/AO.34.006826
