Abstract
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is believed to carry a predisposition to colorectal cancer (CRC) development. International clinical guidelines suggest that UC patients should have a colonoscopy performed every year or up to every third year from approximately eight years after diagnosis for early detection of CRC/dysplasia. However, according to the Danish epidemiological data available, such recommendations are dubious. The present mini review focuses on this matter for the UC population in Denmark.Entities:
