Abstract
Nonpsychiatric consultations to a general hospital psychiatric unit were investigated for concordance with diagnostic testing advice, drug recommendations, and representation of the medical diagnoses in the discharge summary. Those patients who received consultations were older and had less social support but did not have more severe medical illnesses. The level of concordance with medical consultants' recommendations was far greater than previous reports of psychiatric consultants' advice to nonpsychiatric colleagues.Entities:
