Abstract
While still in the early stages of development, the work of the Global Pediatric Education Consortium represents a major initiative designed to facilitate needed improvements in the way pediatric physicians throughout the international community are trained and assessed. With the combined resources, expertise, and mutual cooperation of its member organizations, the GPEC has a unique opportunity to make an impact on the health and well-being of children worldwide. The immediate priority is to ensure the sustainability of this endeavor and its dissemination throughout the pediatric training community. Major funding and strategic partners who will be able to assist in the implementation of this vision will be actively sought in the near future. The GPEC, working together as a community, has enormous potential to have an impact on MDG 4 through the improvement and quality of physician education.Entities:
