Fused-seven-ring anthracene derivative with two sulfur bridges for high performance red organic light-emitting diodes.

Abstract

A fused-seven-ring anthracene derivative with two sulfur bridges, benzobisthioxanthene (BTA), was synthesized, facilely. OLEDs employing BTA as the emitter exhibited bright (maximum 40,752 cd m(-2)) and efficient red emission (CIE, x = 0.64, y = 0.36) with a luminous efficiency of 4.4 cd A(-1).
