Abstract
Total synthesis of Phytophthora mating hormone α1 (1) has been demonstrated. The required stereochemistries (methyl) are achieved by applying CuI-(S)-Tol-BINAP-catalyzed conjugate addition of Grignard reagents to α,β-unsaturated esters.Entities:
