Abstract
A patient with a spontaneous esophageal perforation was unsuccessfully managed elsewhere by repeated stent placement. Because of inability to remove the stents and persistent empyema, staged procedures of esophagectomy and later restoration of gastrointestinal continuity were necessary.Entities:
