Characterization and function dependent localization of mammary derived growth inhibitor (MDGI) in mammary glands of bovine and mice.

Lactating and nonlactating mammary glands of bovine and mice were used for visualizing a growth inhibitor (MDGI) after immunocytochemistry with antibodies against the whole polypeptide and synthetic oligopeptides. We describe a function dependent localization of MDGI in epithelial and endothelial cells of mammary glands.
