Abstract
Recent research has uncovered the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after traumatic experiences in the pediatric population at an alarming rate. This review discusses new challenges in identifying children at risk for the development of PTSD, as well as understanding the unique aspects of this disorder found in the pediatric population. In addition to the characterization of pediatric PTSD, this review addresses current screening tools and treatment strategies used in childhood stress disorders.Entities:
