Unilateral masseteric hypertrophy. A case report.

Gabriela Furdui-Carr1, Louis Mandel.

Abstract

Masseteric hypertrophy (MH) is a relatively common condition seen in the dental office. Patients often present with a complaint of a "swollen cheek" or are referred with a tentative diagnosis of parotid gland swelling. MH is usually bilateral, but the unilateral nature of this reported case led to a tentative diagnosis of parotid gland disease.
