Abstract
In addition to bone homeostasis, vitamin D is involved in the physiological functions of several tissues and its insufficiency may contribute to various disorders. Vitamin D status seems to be associated with each of the components of metabolic syndrome (MetS), as well as MetS overall. We review these associations as well as the effects of vitamin D supplementation on MetS.Entities:
