Cyclosporin nephrotoxicity.

G H Neild1.

Abstract

Nephrotoxicity must always be excluded as a cause of renal dysfunction in allograft recipients receiving cyclosporin. Prolonged nephrotoxicity will lead to permanent impairment of renal function. This is a consequence of the renal vasospasm and vascular pathology that leads to ischemia and atrophy of the glomeruli and renal tubules.
