Abstract
Chronic pain is poorly managed and represents a huge unmet medical need that affects humans globally. The traditional multifaceted drug regimens for controlling chronic pain are marginally effective, produce highly variable results and display for the most parts unacceptable side effects. Research efforts over the last decade have identified peroxynitrite (PN) as a critical signaling molecule in the development of pain. Targeting PN is a novel evidence-based approach to develop novel therapeutics for managing chronic pain.Entities:
