Abstract
A 70-year-old male patient had a tumor in the left ventricular apex that was detected by transthoracic echocardiography. He had no clinical manifestations. A diagnosis of benign lipoma was made using the noninvasive fat suppression technique of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Video-assisted surgery was performed to resect the tumor, and the histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of lipoma. A small part of the tumor was not resected. The postoperative course was uneventful. No signs of recurrence were detected on transthoracic echocardiography or MRI during a 22-month post surgical follow-up period.Entities:
