Abstract
BACKGROUND: Since the 1980s, a high EEG abnormality rate has been reported for patients with panic disorder. However, how the EEG abnormalities of panic disorder patients are related to the clinical features and pathology of these patients has yet to be clarified. In this study we investigated whether or not EEG abnormalities are related to the 13 symptoms in the DSM-IV criteria for a diagnosis of panic attacks.Entities:

*2) the EEG waves of this case were shown in Figure 1
Figure 1EEG record of Case 11. EEG Result: Basic activity is 12~13 Hz 20~50 μV with regular α waves. 6-7 Hz θ wave activities appear in the posterior and central channels occasionally. Judgment of this EEG is slightly abnormal.
Figure 2EEG record of Case 5. EEG Result: Basic activity is 10-11 Hz 30~100 μV with regular or irregular α waves. Sharp & slow wave complexes appear in the right a few times. Judgment of this EEG is slightly abnormal.
