Science to practice: can CT be performed for multicolor molecular imaging?

Jeff W M Bulte1.

Abstract

In an animal model of atherosclerosis, it was shown that multispectral computed tomography (CT) used with two radiologic contrast agents (gold and iodine) can depict macrophages, vascularization, and calcification separately and simultaneously during only one scanning examination.
